    Maverick,

While it's essentially the same block family it is an inch taller and has larger turbos - the rear turbo fouls the booster - you either need to get a smaller booster, mount the engine slightly forward or be a dodgy runt and hope the two clearance each other over time...

Although not strictly relevant here, a factory aristo auto box does not use a slip yoke, hence the tailshaft doesn't just slide in.

These are the things that make it harder than a 1JZ.

    Mos.

PS. i2obert - the 2JZ already has individual dump pipes

I got half way into installing my 1jz in my lux, then i found an Aristo 2jz, and decide to do the swap. Found the bracket mounts form the blocks were interchangeable, As for fouling turbos, i got rid off them and bought a single setup. I am running the R154 that came with the JZA70 half cut that i had. That was a direct bolt on.
So far things are going well.

even having achieved what i have a achieved with a factory internal 1jzgte, if i had my time again i would have started 2jzgte.

i agree with jason, with aristo coming over so cheap, i would even look at that, though they wont drift real well or drag.

im over the hole headswop just seem to be easyer then trying to bolt the hole 2jz in as then the manifold and so on will need to be changed wear if i use the 1jz head manifold and so on will fit
    it shouldnt confuse you.

    2JZ head flows better.

im interested as to how simple it is to bolt the 1J head to the 2J block, ive been told theres some machining work that needs to be done in regards to oil flow, but has anyone here actually DONE it, and can confirm what needs to be done...?

    Importbitz has just done it,

John had the oil feed hole in the 1J head welded up and relocated to mirror the setup on the 2J head, looked like it would have worked without modification, but better safe than sorry.
