They are all interchangeable.
Hello
My apologies if this seems like a really obvious question.
The alternator has failed in my Crown (UZS131), and I am trying to verify that the Crown alternator isn't special.
I mainly need the following confirmation: are all alternators between 1UZFE compatable as far as mounting is concerned?
Source of confusion: Toyota EPC
UZS131 Crown Alternator: ToyoDIY.com
UCF10 Celsior Alternator: ToyoDIY.com
The bolting holes are spaced correctly but UCF10 has smaller width top mount (does that make any sense?)
I am aware that the Crown alternator has some differences in pulley size, physical size and capacity (Cruzida, madmont). Early and late model alternators change plug shape. The Lextreme website does a comparison of the different models of 1UZ alternators. The earlier model looks identical to the later model, and both seem to look like the Crown alternator as pictured in the EPC.
To summarise, it would seem they are all interchangeable. Is that true?
Again my apologies if this seems like a dumb question.
Thank you for your time,
Brendon

if the 3 pin plug is different just goto yr local auto electrician and he can supply a plug in adapter
no need to cut and solder
Thank you both
So far whenever I've needed to replace something, it's had to come from Japan, so this is good news
Cheers,
Brendon
