Oh also if anyone can link to a JZX90 wiring diagram and engine service manual, that would be tops![]()
Guys, been a long time since I messed with 1JZs.
Service
Just planning on oil, filter, timing belt & tensioner.
Water pump looks good, and front & rear seals look good, so I'll leave those alone.
Anything else that should be done / checked while it's out?
Modification path
Initially it will just have cooler, twin dumps, exhaust, intake and fuel pump. With these mods is the stock ECU & tune likely to be safe, and what kinda boost would I be seeing?
From there I understand that you are pushing the limits of the stock injectors (330s?), turbos (safe to ~15psi) and ECU?
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....

might want to consider a balancer if that one is looking like separating...
stock injectors are 380cc and i have seen them go 17psi with a gt35r with headroom so ide suggest anything the stock turbos can throw at it will be safe...
and yes 14.7psi is factory boost cut
ill have to check with rainsy if he has any jzx90 diagrams or service manuals etc...

Cool, I'll check out the balancer closely.
380s are plenty for my power level.
manuals would be topssssssssssss

thats not really worth it...
its giving you unneccessary parts and not giving you the most important part which is the balancer...
i got a quote recently for all the 100000km service parts including balancer for less than $600 delivered

How any of those parts unneccesary but the balancer isnt?
Balancers last over 150,000k
lol good luck on that one... the amount of balancers ive seen separate ~110000-120000 kms suggests very differently
and the tensioner sub ass
and hydraulic tensioner are not necceisary

balancer can seperate and not really do any damage tho, Timing belt tension drops belt skips/chews out,
They are non interference, but still less than ideal
Ok so I've organised cam seals, front crank seal, cam cover gaskets, new water pump, timing belt & bearing.
Need to get rear crank seal, interestingly aren't any on ebay.

Balancer looks fine by the way but I'll keep it in mind.

ive seen dented bonnets as a result of balancer failure
not to mention destroyed clutch fans and radiators... its a pretty big solid mass that can fly off in any direction at 6000rpm
this is not always the case but it is possible...
my opinion is chewing teeth of a timing belt and the car stopping would be a better and cheaper thing to fix...
