Evening Folks,
Thought I'd start a thread that didn't have "What's Happening" in it
Toyota Nationals : 2012 Edition is all go and will be happening from Friday 6th of April til Monday 9th of April in Dubbo NSW.
It's an Easter long weekend ritual that has a
- Show 'n' Shine
- Tarmac motorkhana
- Airstrip drag racing (1/8th mile)
- Plenty of like minded Toyota fans and a drink or two

forms out yet?
need to book a room at matilda asap...
Forms are on the site linked, well read Vito lol. Room booked a couple weeks back, looking forward to catching up with everyone for a few beers and probably dribble shit about my build when I am smashed. I'll be taking the 4wd up so if anyone needs tyres etc taken up I should have some spare space or even across the weekend etc.
If in doubt power out
i was on the site yesterday and it was still talking about nationals 2011, hence the question
edit; wanna take some spare parts/tools/etc for me ronorz?
Vito,
i had the same prob, hit refresh on the site and it came up with 2012 instead of 2011 ... dunno how that works...
Not sure if i will be out this year or not - looks like the car should be ready, but i have alot on my plate right now - bit hard to predict the future.. lol
Cheers
Stew

Website is definately updated(barely), if it says 2011 anyway press refresh
At this stage I should be there in the ring-in again (maybe I should put a Toyota engine in it). Also will have an empty SUV (that won't need emptying for show n shines, etc) for carting stuff if needed.
as I have not been since 09,when there was no drags the last time I was there when the drags were run was 07. at that meet we ran dial in times and had a knockout comp which was great and gave everyone a chance to race thier car on a fairly level playing field. I understand that since 09 the "drags " are now run as a timed run only with the best time getting the win regardless of which car crosses the line first. Is this correct? and if so I would assume that the field has to be broken up into time brackets or vehicle classes. can anyone give me a heads up on how this works so that I can make a choice on which car to take??
Cheers Greg.
Brum, was going to be a billy cart ,now has motor and 6 speed+++

I'm in like flynn hopefuuly with the wagon
ST177 UZS131 Crown Royal 'G' the pimping limo like daily 1UZFE 144rwkw
DST17T MS53 68 Crown Custom Wagon 7MGTE 266rwkw
I'm in too!
Had two weekends in a row of testing and am now ready - mainly because the car is not broken.
Drags will be fun either heads up test and tune style winner determined by timeslip or dial your own comp. If I can drop the clutch and pull skids and do all the stuff you get arrested for on public roads then I am going to have fun!

hey Greg, races are all timed, cars are broken up into 4, 6, 8 cyl. Naturally aspirated or forced induction, RWD, AWD, FWD is the basic rundown. You have as many runs as you can and we take the best time out of your first 5-7 runs.(hopefully everyone will get this many goes). After this its pretty much grudge racing. We've found this formula works quite well for this type of event. Cheers Danae
Thanks Danae,Hope to catch up at Dubbo!
Cheers Greg.

technically thats not drag racing Danae
a drag race requires 2 cars side by side... winner is first over the line (within the rules.. breakout etc if dyo) the fastest time does not mean the car won the race.....
