Yes, the G-L is the correct wire.
In my 5MGE MX73 it already ran over to where the stock ecu was, but not sure if they did that for the 5ME models.
Hi all,
I'm in the process of replacing my mighty 5ME with a 7M.
I have most if not all the wires sorted except for the speed wire from the dash.
I have pulled the cluster out and have traced the G-L (green with blue trace) from the plug next to the Speed cable (not the one in the middle) to the cruise control plug next to the drivers kick panel.
Can some one please confirm if that is the correct wire?
All the wirring diagram i have been using are non MX73 5me diagrams. I cant for the life of me find complete wirring diagram for my car.
Any help will be highly appriciated.
I would like to thank in advance the two gentleman below who have made my f@C$ing life so much easier from sharing thier knewledge, so two thumbs up guys:

5me and 5mge are worlds apart. 5mge is more closure to 7mge.
I was not able to trace the speed wire and the stop signal wire near the ECU.
thanks mate
Pretty sure they both only went to the ECT ecu (for the tranny), which the 5ME definitely didn't have.
But it was a looooong time ago now!

That explains it why the 5me has none of them because of the hydraulic box.
