No it is the earlier blocks that you need to take to with a die grinder. The later castings will take the 3t crank without mods
As title says, I have a late model 2tgeu block which I want to use for a 2t/3t conversion. Is there any particular reasons I can't?
Thanks in advance .

The dummy cam bores are the same so no problems there. As you are using a 2TGEU block it should already be fitted with the dummy cam you need to the xTGEU head. The lifter bores are machined from memory but no big issue as you don't need them for a xTGEU head.
If you are using this with a single cam head then you will need to knock out the rear 3 cam bearings in the block as for the twin cam head the rear ones are rotated to block off the oil feed for the single cam as the dummy cam is a lot shorter.
Pic shamelessly stolen from Tore's ride thread
2TGEU block with lifter bore holes evident. Again pic stolen from Tore's ride thread. I can check my 3TGTE block to see if the lifter bores are machined when I get a chance.
