cam cover seals leaking into plug valleys?
Hi guys, a mate of mine has an ST184 Celica with a 5SFE that when I pull the spark plug leads out they are covered in oil, same deal when I pull out the spark plugs, my socked is soaked.
The car runs ok for a while and blows no smoke so I really have no idea.
Any ideas before we start doing any major component dissassembly or anything like that?

cam cover seals leaking into plug valleys?
So the bottom of the plug where the spark occurs is fine?
what chuck said, the seal that seals the cam cover to the head, is either had it or the big nuts around the spark plug wells that secure the cover are loose and need tightening.
looking at the diags from the 5sfe the wells are diff to the 3s, they are tubes coming to the top of the cam cover?
90480‑30025 appears to be the part number you need. x4. for the seals at the top, other possible reason is the well/tubes themselves have come loose where they screw down to the head.

Thanks for the replies
I had a similar issue with the cam cover gasket on my GTI Swift which is what I was thinking this issue may also be.
Changing the cam cover seal and the four seals for the well/tubes seems cheap and easy enough as a start.
Figured there was no harm asking here first just incase their was a know major issue.
Thanks again for the replies and suggestions.
