    Question 2T vs. 2TG headstuds

    Hi all,
Can 2T headstuds/bolts be used on a 2TG? i.e. are they the same length?? 2TG gear is harder to come by and I need a new set of head studs to complete my 3TG hybrid build. I can measure my old rusty 2TG bolts if someone out there has some 2T head bolts they can measure to compare?

    Cheers, JB

    Hi JB.
Simply JB they don't fit, 2t are approximately 17mm to long to fit 2tg. I know this, I bought a set of said 2tg studs from an ARP dealer in US. Then had to pay a engineer over here to shorten and machine thread further up stud, cost another $100.00.
The other way, unless you are putting mega boost in, is contact Amayama Trading about new standard head bolts. Who is a forum sponsor and very good to deal with. Look up on toyotdiy.com site 1984 Corona TT142 5 speed, then look up engine section. You will see exploded diagrams with part numbers, ignore prices though the're old list prices. They have 3tgte fitted from factory which are same as 2tgeu head bolts, whish I had taken this option now.

As ToyTA22 stated, they don't fit without modification.

'Sleeka Spares' sells 2TG headbolts and sells them at $15 each and they are genuine toyota.
You'll need to email them as their internet site isn't finished yet.
