2JZGTE VVTi vs Non-VVTi igniters are different.

VVTi runs wasted spark and hence has a '3 channel' igniter.

Non VVTi run sequential spark and hence have a '6 channel' igniter. As a note this 6 channel igniter apparently does not work as a 3 channel igniter

I also have a feeling that I've seen an igniter that looked very simlar (same plug etc) to the VVTi 2jzgte one before on later model Camrys in the past?

    Cheers

Try a 1mzfe Camry one as they are a wasted spark setup too
