there are plenty of good clutch places around but depends on your budget? you need to work out how much power you will be chasing (now and long term to save doing it twice) and work out buget and go from there. you can get some good single plate now days and still good on the street but if you chasing power then a twin plate would be better.

ygo i was just reading bout your 2j cressy did you get rid of it ? ........ Back on topic im chasing 300 kw but all clutches ive managed to find seem very expensive. i agree i want to do it right the first time looking to spend approx 1000 is that realistic?

yeah my old npc single plate 5puk button was about 770 from memory? and i got a billet flywheel (extra) but you dont have to get that if you dont want. that held just under 500rwhp for 6months of everyday driving but as soon as i tryed to take off fast at the track it couldnt cope with the 255 semis other wise it was a very good clutch for street dutes and never slipped once. for a twin plate your looking around the 2000 mark not cheap but good to hold the power. and yes i still have my cressida

The old 2 out of 3 rule generally applies to clutches (on high power engines) as well.

    Driveability, Reliability, Affordability.

    You can only have 2.

thus why auto ticks all the box's

2jz stock auto will hold 300 rwkw , or spend 2-3k and get it built and stally and just keep oil temps down and u shouldnt have any probs
1j auto's have less clutch packs , and hold a bit less power from stock , but 2-3k and its tough for 300-350 rwkw

manuals however are 2k at least , plus 1k for a clutch for 300 odd rwkw , or 2k for 350rwkw plus and just less drivability

im in the same boat as you , tricked auto or manual . all depends on power goals and car usage
