just trim the heat affected wire & plug and add new wiring from engine fan to where the wiring now ends. Use new connectors and a proper crimping tool not the cheap kits like these.
fwiw: I had a 16" fan melt an inline fuse holder - the fuse was either not sitting correctly in the holder or simply gave up way too slowly and got hot before failing. Make sure the wiring for the fan is rated to suit continuous high current draw and the connectors are decent items.
