Scrap only mate I reckon
engine was in a n130 surf that i bought, anyway when removing seen a bit of coolant at the bottom of the bellhousing, though it may have split a hose or something in the valley and it has been draining down through the holes under the starter so i didnt think anything of it. got her all out sweet, split the gearbox off once out and then tried to mount it up on the engine stand, previous owners had broken the top rhs bolt so i used the next one down, and once it had weight on it coolant started leaking out, the weight opened the crack up a bit. good dam whoever put the engine in were rough, so many little things were done on the dodgy.
would it be repairable? im no welder/engineer but should be as simple as finding someone with a tig to grind it out a bit and touch her up?

R.I.P.
I would give it a go, run a die grinder over the crack, good hit with a staino wire wheel on a drill, pump some amps into it and quickly cap it.
Worst comes to worse it either leaks again, probably wouldnt warp/fuck anything.
im thinking it must have been droped or bashed around during install or transport or something, yeah i figure i got nothing to lose, dad has a mate that's handy with a tig apparently so ill have to sus him out and see if he will have a go, if not devcon and hope for the best.... hahaha
2nd for scrap. We're mounts hard to remove?
I was thinking what have you got to lose & that you might as well try & repair it, but then when you think how relatively cheap these motors are it might be better to just swap it over as its going to really piss you off if it still leaks & you have to pull it out again ..
I would get another motor plus while its out fix all the other rough jobs done by the previous owner
with engine out its way easier to fix a lot of the stuff
Bolt with non-hardening gasket cement & dump some stop-leak stuff into the coolant.
Full out repair is only for something special/valuable/difficult to replace or you're planning to keep till old age.
Also, fix that broken bolt so the leaky one doesn't have to handle its load in addition to its own.
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
i have dropped it round at the tig dudes place, he reckons it shouldnt be too bad, i blocked off all the other coolant hoses ect so we could hook a air compressor up through regulator and put a few psi in it to test, should hear back in the next day or so how he went, i made he knew not to spend too much time and effort on it for exactly the above reasons. and on closer inspection of the bellhousing there is a nice stain in the bottom so i would say its been doing it the whole time its been in the car
na the rest were easy as, i pulled the motor and box from the surf as one and split them on the ground
yeah i need to track down a fine 12mm tap, i have drilled it and taped to 3/8 unc for the moment so i can use it to mount it up to the engine stand.
