Default 1ggte oil type what did u run?

hey guys im at the stage where im starting to put fliuds into the motor
its been sitting for about 4 years without running and i know they dont flow oil thru the motor overly well
just wanted to know what oil people have used with success and how to go about running it for the first time after sitting so long
i have shimmed the oil pump so i shoul have a bit more oil pressure
    cheers

is it freshly rebuilt? or how many ks? Factory recommendation of 10w30? If it has >100k ks, I'd reccomend 5w40 (thinner at cooler startup temps) to flow more freely. Also crank the engine without spark first to build oil pressure before starting.

about 130000 kms yeah i planned on priming it up without spark and to get some oil to the turbo

Turbo is the least of your worries if the motors been sitting for that long, I'd be worried about head and bottom end bearings.
I would take the valve covers off and poor some oil over the cams, then as you said, crank it a few times without spark

Penrites HPR series are some of the best priced synthetics on the market. HPR5 is a full synth 5w40 SN grade, shouldn't cost more than $53, then HPR10 is the same but 10w50 and very similar price. Anything of the same grade and quality in one of the american brands like Castrol and Mobil will set you back at least 65-70...
