    Default 4AG Sequential Ignition - ECU Setup

    Dudes, I am currently setting up my adaptronic 440 select to run full sequential ignition.

    Does anyone have an adaptronic map of their 4AG running full sequential ignition that I can take the triggering setup from? Or can I get some tips of typical values to put into the system etc? Also can I confirm how you wired up your ignition/injection outputs in terms of which output goes to which cylinder? From what I gather there are a couple different ways to go about it depending on what distributor/CAS/trigger wheel you are using... I am using an AE101GZE CAS (24+1+1 style) with 1ZZFE coilpacks.

    Cheers

    according to the adap manual, you wire it in the firing order for both injectors and ignition.

    that's how i read it too, but after speaking to andy he says the injectors and ignition are indeed supposed to be 360deg out.

    "Hi mate,

    They are supposed to be out of phase as it says on the forum.

    I'm not sure whether G1 or G2 happens on cylinder 1 compression, but I'm going to assume it's G1. In that case,

    Ignition 1 -> cyl 1

    Ignition 2 -> cyl 3

    Ignition 3 -> cyl 4

    Ignition 4 -> cyl 2

    Injection 1 -> cyl 4

    Injection 2 -> cyl 2

    Injection 3 -> cyl 1

    Injection 4 -> cyl 3"

    The next reply in the chain was;

    "No worries - it will still run fine with the other settings, just that you will get better drivability if the injection phase is correct."

    so yeah...

    cracked the shits with it, couldnt get it to work properly so ive rewired ot to wasted spark for the moment. Once it's running properly I'll try direct fire again....

    ignition... or injection? Isn't all ignition systems "sequential" I realize wasted spark could be classified as "batch fire"... what am I missing??

    Concerning full sequential injection... my cams have a center # 112 degrees... the button in lower left calculates the timing from the camshaft specs

    Not sure if the Adapt has this kind of setting, but if you have a "Squirts per cycle" option, set it to 1... Just did that with my 20V today (which was set to 2squirts/cycle with sequential) and it went from sounding like a WRX in my startup video and struggling to rev, to sounding like screaming 4AGE (with ITBs) and revving to 8500rpm without a hassle!

    injection is fine, it's the ignition that isnt. the coils arent firing when i configured it to direct fire. rewired the coils to wasted spark and selected the preset wasted spark 4AG settings in the ecu and instant spark...
