    Default St215w 3sgte ecu

Hi there, I am new to Toymods and have recently bought a 98' Caldina GT-T (ST215W 3SGTE) manual. I would like to get a ECU for her, but I haven't had much experience with the 3SGTE. The car seems to be running very rich and I would like to make her a bit more efficient and get a bit more grunt.
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions/experience with ECU's for the Caldina. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I run a Haltech PS1000 in my car, my tuner runs a Haltech Sprint. For simplicity sake we left the stock ecu in to control idle up for the aircon etc and just wired it in as a piggyback to take over the engine. This is as much about being able to reverse the mods back out in future easily as it is about reducing costs ie considerably less labour involved then completely rewiring the stock loom. To be honest economy isn't hugely different to the stock ecu it is alright on cruise, it is only stupidly rich on WOT and the amount of time spent on it really doesn't make that much of a difference to your economy.

A few others on here have either played with piggy backs like the Greddy Emanage and some others are running Adaptronics as well.
    If in doubt power out

Thanks for that. I've heard Adaptronic are good and reasonably priced. I will have a chat to my mechanic and see what he thinks.

I'm in the middle of tweaking the Adaptronic in mine. It's a full 'plug & play' system. I've got it mounted right beside the stock ECU. I can unplug one and plug the other in. Works a treat.
