cool what was anymain issues if there was with doing it. did you have to be emision tested do they go through your whole car with general roadwourthyness
mine was 4ac to 4agte in an ae86. so pretty much same thing.
no, mine went over first time, the body is pretty much the only thing left thats original and it passed engineering and rego with ease.
i had to get an emissions test, but they allow you to use a dyno to read out afr's over a certain time and rev, or just an afr emission tester. ( i dont know if the law has changed since i got mine engineered) they get you to do a brake test, DB test, they want the new weight of your car and a dyno hp readout.
the engineer's go through the whole thing, one of them was checking the glass and all head/side/rear lights for the E standard symbol. tho once the engineer passes it and you take the car over the pits for rego, the inspector just has to drive it, then pass it.
i installed a cat converter and charcoal canister, i dont think it even needed a cat but i put one in anyway, give them nothing to whine about.

ok well there will still be a lot of work for me to do anyway. when they(pits) and engineer go threw and check stuff they dont start ripping your inteerior apart say to get to behind the tail light and similar places
The relevant compliance info for tail lights is moulded into the exterior of the lens and is visible when you look at the coloured plastic bit from the outside. They don't have to remove any trim to inspect it.
