I doubt it Chris (unless the WB02 kit has a really high sampling rate). The knock sensor is basically a microphone. Have a look at http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/engine_2_52.htm for a sample waveform and a description.

Hey guys,
I have a question re the stock knock sensors on a 1jz-gte. I have read about making your own knock sensing system but I thought this may be another option for me but I am not totally sure on how the knock sensors work. Basically, my WB02 kit can datalog anything that has a 0-5v output like map sensors, TPS etc. Do the knock sensors work in this way also? If they do then I could run a signal wire straight to the WBO2 and datalog any knock when I am tuning. This would be a great thing to be able to do as I tune the car myself and will have ignition to sort out soon.
Thanks
Chris

The WBo2 does have an adjustable sampling rate but I can't remember what the quickest it can go is. It is a regular 0-5v signal though? If it is and I can monitor it quick enough then I don't see why it wouldn't work?
Chris - forget it.
knock sensors and knock control circuits arent something that is a simple 0-5Vdc signal. We are talking about an analogue AC signal that is completely variable.
...... butt scratcher?!
Damn! Thought I had a good idea there too
Thanks guys
