W55 is a manual trans mate.
I had my rt132 converted from w55 auto to w50 manual for $1100, including everything. All used parts but with bnew clutch kit. I want to know if that was a reasonable price.

Woops sorry. It's the 3speed auto trans in the rt132. I want to know if the price is just right, including the labor.
well you need to change the pedal box for a manual pedal box ,so most of the dash has to be taken out ,clutch master cyl and clutch lines etc slave cylinder and also fly wheel ,so there is a lot of labour involved
I see. $1100 for the whole package, parts and labor. Is that price reasonable?
whoever did it should provide an itemised bill showing parts and labour etc
but its too late to worry about it now right? just enjoy the car and move on.

Some thoughts.. when I converted my RA23 to manual, I paid the following
Gearbox and manual conversion parts (pedal box, tailshaft, lines, crossmembers, flywheel) $350
New clutch kit - $250
New clutch master and slave - $95 I think
So that is nearly $700 in bits
Plus there was a fly wheel machine I did at work, so there is probably another $50-100 at workshop rates.
If they were only charging $50 an hour, then they have charged you a days labour (8 hours).
Given how much of a prick of a job the pedal box is, there will be more than a few hours there, and a gearbox change is going to be at least 3 hours if you are charging for putting the car on the hoist, removing and replacing, etc etc. Plus there is the mucking around inside the car getting the console right etc.
I would say you were looked after well.
Great! Thanks for the reply guys. Now i've got my peace of mind![]()
