Threaded Rod for OEM Oil Cooler Removal??
Hai Guys,
Im using a universal oil filter relocation kit that deletes the xJZ oil filter and cumbersome water cooler setup to gain some chassis rail clearance.
For those of you who have used a universal oil filter relocation kit without the hefty water oil cooler, what bolt did you use to mate the relocation kit to the block??
I have tried a bolt from a Camry 5SFE block, that mated to an 'adapter bolt' in the kit, which actually worked, but there wasnt much thread to go around to permanently and securely mount it.
Anyone know of an off the shelf, preferably genuine Toyota bolt, that will mate these universal kits to the 1JZ/2JZ block??
Cheers
-Dan
FOR REFERENCE:
This is the type of kit i want to use...
This is what the 2JZ has (disregard random google images 1JZ pic)
I really need something like this, with enough thread to securely mount the oil filter relocation into the block, while not too long as to block the oil flow etc.
Thanks a lot guys!!!

i have pics etc... but cant remembr details at the moment - but5 cant take pic of new setup if it helps.. i did it to change the angle etc that the relocation ended up

Cheers mate, the IS200 will be far more reliable than any 2nd hand bimmer, ze germans are a funny bunch, some BMW parts are works of art, others are just monstrosities.... If they didnt look pretty, you'd set fire to them (if it hadnt already caught fire for no reason haha).
JZ's bolt into IS200's dont they?? Hmmmmmmmm, convenient!![]()
Hi mate,
I wasin the same boat as you, looked for weeks for something. Eventually I got a high tensile bolt with the right thread (13/16"-16 off memory?), cut it and drilled out the centre. Added low strength locktite and works a treat.
