KE20 5 stud front brakes

Hey all, i am installing a hilux 5 stud diff into my KE20, at the moment i have ke30 front disks and hubs but i want to try and get something on the front with the same stud pattern. Does anyone know of a disk or hub that can be made to fit on the standard stub axles? The hilux diff is ford pattern and i will be using ford pattern convo pros all round.

Hoppers Stoppers say they make a brake kit for the KE20 which includes custom made Ford 5 stud hubs, I'm sure they would sell you just the hubs if that's all you needed.

Other than that you would require different struts to fit 5 stud hubs and that opens a whole can of worms on these old KE's as it'll mean a few other items will need changing too.

So you're running a KE30 hub on the KE20 strut at the moment??

Yep i have ke30 hubs/ disks / calipers, just used the ke20 bearings and bolted straight on. I will have a look at hopper stoppers

Mrshin had 5 stud on KE70.. and since KE70 hubs can go onto KE20, then there is an avenue there...

Hmmm, not to take this offtopic but I have a set of KE38 hubs in my garage which I thought would fit my KE25 stub axles and they don't. The inner bearing from the KE20 hub has an outside diameter too small for the hub and the inner diamter is too large for the stub axle (the outer bearing is the same on both hubs though). Which kind of disappointed me consider how I had read numerous times that the hubs would fit

oldcorollas option is an interesting one, be nice to find out the details of that.

Yep can get the hopper stoppers kit for a touch over 1k, spewing that i lost a set of convos on ebay with 4x115mm PCD, some guy with a 1600 out bid me in the last 8 seconds by $5

I would love to know about the 5 stud on this KE70?

the KE30 hub has one bearing different, so you need to change that inner bearing from ....

oh i see what you are saying... hmm... i have heard of people puuting KE20 bearings in KE30, KE55 and KE70 sedans and fitting directly onto KE10/20's..
the KE70sedan has different brakes (228mm) and stuff to the KE70 sedans (218mm), so it is possible the pano have slightly different bits...

should be easy to find a bearing with correct outer and inner diameters tho?
what sizes are we talking?

I kept the old bearings (KE25 and KE38) so I could take some accurate measurements and post the info in the KE thread. Will do that soon, maybe tonight if I feel inspired

I have considered heading to the local bearing store and obtaining a set of bearings in the correct inner and out diameters but asking for things like this usually is a painful experience as the guys aren't real helpful sometimes.

thats cos it is often a toss-up between the IQ of the bearins or the guy behind the counter...

you could call Hoopers Bearings in Mascot and get them to send them down

i have gotten all kinds of weird and wonderful bearings and o-rings of different materials thru them..

oh othere thing is.. if you are considering big brakes.. it might be an idea to try and get a bigger stub axle on there.. the KE20 ones are not exactly the biggest and strongest around...
