    Default 2zz zze123 and zzt231 ecu plugs

    hi there guys,
    just a quick question,
will the ecu from a zzt231 celica fit over to my zze123 05 sportivo corolla?
i know there both 2zz motors but not sure if the plugs/pinouts are the same.
    cheers in advance.
    paul.

The plugs may be the same but fairly sure the pinouts/functionality are different. Reason is beause the PowerFC for the 2ZZ is designed for the ZZT231 and needs to have a sub-harness made up before it works properly with the ZZE123 - SuperDave over on TOCAU does these and knows a lot more about it than I do.

SuperDave is on here as well. But yeah, he makes a conversion patch loom for the Celica Apexi PowerFC to be used with the Corolla.
You will also need to replace the knock sensor form the 2 wire plug to a single wire plug.

I also have the pinouts for both ECUs if you want them, I'm sure Dave has them as well.

    sweet as mr22zz.
iv hit him up about it but i didnt know about the sensors and stuff...
thanks so much for the info guys.
ps, is it even worth doing a "mines" ecu upgrade for these things?
i know they help us with our starlets and soarer for my mates car but im not sure about N/A stuff.

I don't think Mines for an ECU for the 2ZZ.

The question needs to be asked though, why do you want the celica ECU on the Sportivo?
There is no gain unless it's an aftermarket ECU.

Kind of on a related topic, are the jap-spec 2zzs equipped with the immobiliser key dealie?

    yeah prob should have explained.
i can get ecu's for zzt231 by the dozen in japan but none for zze123.
like mines, power fc, and a whole bunch of in between.
it kinda feels like a nugget till i get to like 6k up.
i just thought id try get something that changes the delivery or at least gives it a bit more...
its for the missus to use as a daily but i still wanna take it for a thrash when i want more room than the starlet.
