Same boat as of this morning, A70 axles, looked and couldn't find any distinction btw L&R side, I'll need to also shorten mine. Hopefully someone will give us direction Justen.
So, now i have a set up that can accept the full xA70 drive shafts. I have plenty of spare sets.
Any tips on how to tell which goes into which side? They appear physically identical with no L and R stamps like Toyota usually provide?
Given they have years of 'twist' in them the strength will be seriously compromised if they go in the wrong way.
I examined the splines for wear, but that gave me x2 right sides?
Thoughts?

no mention of left or right orientation.
if you can't tell by spline wear, i wonder if you could tell by a torsion test? ie, the angle reached by a certain torque. if it has twisted, it should be lower angle in the "forwards" direction..

I have about an hour before they go it Stew....don't think i'll be building a testing rig in that time
I'll get the splines out in the sunshine as see if any more wear clues are revealed...this method has worked in the past but the splines were 'sloppy' so more lash to give obvious wear surfaces.

good luck
hmm, paint on a thin line to make it easier to see in future when they have twisted?

I had a real good look and they both had polish marks on one side of the spline....unfortunately it made them both right hand side? The 'more' right hand side went in there and i guess i just take a chance with the left one?
