    Default Hilux yn57 + New Engine !!

    Hay
    have had this hilux double cab for 6 months and the 3y engine is stuffed !!

    so I am wanting a new engine !!
    I have got a 3s fe out of a celica sitting in my garage that i would love to drop in .
    I am not wanting over 200 hp just because I am guna build a off roader for the thrills !!
    Custom intakes and other things are sweet I dont mind making them . ( good Fun )
    so the question I need answers to are

    how much do you think it will cost ?
    How mods do I need to do ( sump ,intake , ?
    What bolt on parts are there ?
    With my bellhousing fit ?
    With the w52 5 speed dump 3rd all over the road ?

    any help would be great !! first time doing any of this stuff ae !!

    hey mate , you wouldnt happen to still have the 3y carburrator ? , mine shat out on me and im after a cheap one , cheers

    Gearbox will handle it, mate has one behind a lexus and does 5th gear burnouts no sweat! You can get bell housings for these. I dunno what van it was but one came out with an s series motor and you can get bell housings from these, i think they need modifying slightly. Cost will depend entirely on what parts you do and dont have and what you want to do to it and how much of it you can do yourself.

    Some of the 3SGTE RWD conversions have used 3Y bellhousings - would suggest taking inspiration from them with regard to attaching motor to bellhousing and other RWD stuff like the dizzi and hot water outlet (which will be up against the firewall).

    I've tripped over a few speedbumps (clutch/flywheel & power-steer pumps for instance) with my 3SGE RWD conversion that you might face, see link in my sig for overly verbose discussion.
