    Default C52>C56 speedo setup

AE92 / C52 speedo cable+ union doesnt go into C56; casting in that area seems quite different. Any info on how do ynu set this up would be great. . .

Are you trying to swap the speedo sender over from electronic in the c56 to the manual one out of the c52?

It does go in... You need to try harder.

You can run the manual speedo gear from an ae82 in the box out of a zze.

You're right, I did (need to try harder that is). I typed in Part Number to Google images which helped; realised bases are exactly the same. Just needed to wriggle out & R/R units. . .

What can I say; its my first g/box (C52>C56)+steering (AE92>AE111 Rack+Pump) conversion + Engine rebuild (well, putting it together after getting block & head done outside). Cars been off the road for 6+ months and nearly* ready to crank motor and I guess I'm a bit nervous when any real / imagined problems / unknowns arise.

*Tried it this afternoon but just got chatter / clicking from the Starter. I'm running a C56 starter which has a different solenoid connector; I cut & spliced new terminal & wire into old Solenoid wire (by using a plastic screw-in cylinder connector); I hope its just a case of not splicing wire properly and voltage not getting to solenoid. Will check tomorrow.

PS: I have a left-over 10mmx10mmx8mm aluminium "cube" with a spherical indentation on one end (maybe a spare that came with C56 but not sure); kind of remember it went somewhere external on the g/box casing, possibly around bell-crank mechanism but can't remember. . . does this ring any bells anyone?
