Default Are all G series diff gears the same?

As the title states, just curious to if they are the same or not? Eg. Will the crown and pinion from a cressida bolt into a hilux 4x4 carrier? Just curious to if it was a straight over swap if anyone knew

go to toyodiy.com and check the part number on the carrier and pinion shaft.. my memory of the cressida and hilux is the hilux is a banjo and the mx83 is an IRS diff so the centre bolts up different.. tho i dont know if the centre and pinion can just be removed and refitted.. but toyodiy will let you know thru part number matching..

    Thanks for that.
    Had a look through it:
    MA70 uses : 41201-29595
    MX83 Cressida uses: 41201-19535
    Rn46 Hilux uses: 41201-39415
Now not sure if the numbers are different because they are all different ratios
I haven't got the time to go through the whole list to find same ratio in different series to see if they match up with those last numbers at all.
I am going through the list from Axle Search

There are a few styles of Hilux diffs. g series gears will interchange provided you have the correct housing with the appropriate offset. The offset is different between 4.375 and numerically lower ratios and 4.875 and numerically higher ratios. Not sure which group the 4.55 ratio diffs fit into

Atm I have 4.875, was looking to drop to a 4.11. Not sure, I am running 31 inch tyres but seems to be doing a few too many revs so just trying to work out my options

Thanks sleepercorty, that does help. Can you remember what hilux the 4.3 was out of?

i used aftermarket new gears, but as long as the gears are after about 1980 onwards you should be right, the earlier gears use a course spline pinion and the yoke is different. so as long as they are a fine spline on the pinion yoke you "should" hopefully be okay

Mines an 1980, haven't looked into the pinion flange bolt holes yet.
Thanks for your input madmont aswell.
Also thanks to Pandaah, that site is really useful.
I will search the wreckers and look at the codes on the id tags and see if I can come up with something. Would be nice to know what vehicle I was looking for before I went in.
Like madmont said about the offset being different

I put a 3.583 LSD centre (2006 model) into a 4.1 housing (mid 90s model), no probs at all, just needed to redrill flange which took around 15mins.
Sing out if you want the 4.1 centre.
