Also note when torquing up (above method is correct)
Try to work in stages eg if the setting is 90ft pounds
Set your torque wrench to 30 ft than torque it up 1 - 10
Than set it to 60 ft pounds and repeat sequence 1 - 10
Than set to 90ft pounds and continue sequence 1 - 10
Now you want to keep it on 90 ft pounds and go over all the nuts/bolts again as it is not unusual for some too loosen up during the torquing up procedure
(please not that the 90 ft pounds is just an example figure )
Hope that helps and sounds easy to follow

thanks heaps guys! got them off ok. fair bit of crud so they are getting acid dipped and skimmed before going back on.
have a small dilemma though.
i have cometic gaskets to go on but only their graphite model not the mls gaskets. im debating on whether or not to get some mls gaskets and use them instead?
head surface will be mint (skimmed), but block will be just cleaned/linished with sand paper, so not perfect.
re-torquing either gaskets with the engine in the car is out of the question (physically impossible) which is why im worried about using the mls gaskets as i have heard they sometimes weap and need re-torquing.
not planning on running over 20 psi and to be honest more then likely 15-17psi max on e85 with WI.
what does the brains trust think?
give the gaskets a light spray/mist of hylomar before fitting?
studs are likely to be plastic region type so you dont retorque them, it stuffs them and you wont get near 90ftlb anyway, i thikn somewhere around 50-60 from memory?
there was a big discussion over on v-eight.com about this
arp says 60ftlb for the 3sgte, but as most know they dont list a kit for the 1uz
FYI my 7m arp head studs where torqued to 90ft/pounds with arp moly lube (90 ft pounds was stated by arp for the 7m)
