have you actually taken out the coilpacks and checked for water around the plugs?... and what does it do at 2200rpm?.. cough and splutter?.. misfire?..
After heavy rain engine won't rev past 2200rpm I have checked all the wiring I could and sprayed with water dispersant but continues to stop at low revs. Not sure how to check for codes as engine is in a mx73 cressida.
Also its a 1jzgtte.any help would be great.

what car your engine is originally from? vvti or distributor? depending on that different ways of checking for the codes exist.

Engine conversion is when you drive a shitbox which costs a whole LEXUS to own
Engine is from jzx90.
When it hits 2200rpm stall and drops back to about 1500rpm then climbs back to 2200rpm and drops again untill I let of the gas.
Will check coilpacks but no water evident around top of motor and no missfire just like a rev cut.
Thanks
With JZX90, for diag. codes TE1 is connected to GND. Warning light is connected to W just like with any other toyota. Need pin diagram or do you have one?

Got a pod filter?
If so, where is it located?
I once drive from Sydney to Canberra in a torrential downpour and my pod sucked up water, causing a similar effect.. It's probably not that in this case but just thought I'd mention it.
That's sorta like a carb that's icing up, since there's no misfiring & shaking like usual from wet electric stuff.
I thought only carbs with a venturi could ice, is your TB's water line blocked off?
How is it if you start it up soon after? Symptoms disappear after idling a while? Heat soak & less airflow would melt & fix it..

'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
Idles fine and starts no problem just won't rev past 2200rpm and only happens with heavy rain and deep puddles could have something to do with pod getting wet and not allow)ing enough air its located behind drivers light up high.will check throttle body on the weekend.thanks all for input has given me some ideas.
If it is perfectly 2200rpm its in limp mode, there is definitely water somewhere in an electrical component.
Search hard and you will find it.
If its intermittent you might find your filter or plugs are waterlogged as mentioned.
