Well it sounds unamimous Its crap.... Now have you heard about the stuff that can turn lead into gold .... HAHAHAHA.
Seriously thanks for the headz up .
Hmm... maybe the same setup and just plonk some octane booster in there instead
Dunno how well it'd mix though. Probably not well enough to be affective.

mick - could you please be a little more gentle in the tone of your replyBrian is just stating his experiences. at least its based in basic empirical reality as opposed to 'my mate heard that his neighbour said something'. mioght not be a datalogged beauty, might not even make sense to you but its his 2c
i can hear your voice in your reply you dry bastard, but for the newbies can we please be gentle![]()

Hey guys, don't be to hard on the fitch! It wsn't designed with rev heads in mind, it was desiged for deisel engines originally. It does help with smoother idling and starting in my 4.2 turbo deisel. I don't have any comparison with fuel consumption, but doubt whether it will cause any noticeable difference.
I think if its economy and performance, then make your engine breath better both in and out.
upgrade air filters and improve exhaust (both for the price of a Fitch!)
hahaha sorry i was trying not to show any venom.and it really wasnt aim at anyone exept the people that make and market those things!Originally Posted by ed_jza80

And as for fuel economy, who here really watches their fuel economy that closely... more power always requires more fuel, unless you were running extremely inefficiently in the first place. And even if you were, it's going to be a tiny gain relative to the power increase you could have made using that fuel efficiently in the first place...)

LN65 - Awaiting 1KZT dual transfer 4.88 electric locker transplant
YN65 - Drive car and cabin donor - ok fuckit 1UZ conversion

it's pretty simple really.
Fitch claims to be catalytically CRACKING the hydrocarbon chains.
what happens when you break down an 8 carbon octane or aromatic ring?
two 4 carbon chains = butane = gas
a 5 and 3 chain? pentane and propane, half gas
6 and 2? ethan and hexane...
if this product worked they way that the sellers claim, you are losing, at worst, HALF OF YOUR FUEL because it has now been turned to a gas.
there is a significant difference between catalytic cracking in a petroluem plant, and catalytic cracking in your fuel tank... is that one requires heat (450-500C).... and the other doesn't work.
unless they are mixing alumina and silica with the fuel for a fluidised bed process?
really, there is no science to the device at all. they take some scientific words and a couple of blobs of metal, and call it a wonderous device.
it does not take long, after looking at the scientific aspect, to realise that it makes no sense at all... and if it did, then it would alrready be included in production... just think, if all the oil companies had to do was pass the fuel over this non-consumable catalyst at room temperature.. they could start off with worse fuel
but in reality, the different types of cracking and reforming processes are fairly well refined and widely known.
