Just think of this... if it was that simple we all would have those systems on our cars already.

Can't comment on the Fitch, but I had a Fuelstar, that I got cheap and was mainly fitted to help cover for the high octane fuel requirement since we were going on a drive up north (of WA) where premium can be hard to get. The guy who recommended it had a high compression V8 in a speed boat and would always ping regardless of the type of fuel. The Fuel star fixed his problem.

I fitted to my AE92 corrolla with a 4AGZE. I used to get 10km/L and it went up to 13km/L with no other changes (including driving style).

I thought it was pretty funny when I met a guy with the same car (looked exactly the same) that he used for courier services but had the 4AFE engine carb and it got 10km/L.

Unfortunately I still ran it on premium most of the time.

none of them work or they would be on planes, boats and cars.
they are all con's. the people that have them and think they work have changed there driving style to suit fuel saving.
they sure as hell wont boost octane rating of fuel.
be nice if they worked, youd be able to get a few extra laps in racecar before pitting.
the dyno figures and other fiquires they show for them are worthless!
save your money and buy something that will actually work on your car, like better breathing filter or a fuel controller that you can trim fuel out of the system safely{safely being the major part}.

    fixed.

    suggestion? replace the 5mge with a 1jzge

fwiw: wilbo's 1jzgte fuel economy is about half that of the 5me than it replaced. The new motor produces nearly 100% more power yet it uses half the fuel. Improvements to engine designs have exceeded any gimmick invented.

I'm using less fuel on my 500hp 2JZ-GTE big single turbo combo than I could ever get with my 1JZ-GTE with stock twins.

    2JZ figures measured by me:
    9.8L/100km highway - 12L/100km city

    1JZ figures measured by me:
    13L/100km highway - 15-17L/100km city

So, everyone upgrade to a 2JZ + GT3540R combo to save fuel

Whatever mate - all I can say is I did not change my driving style.

Once the Fuelstar was removed the economy went back from the stated 13 to 10km/L and the obvious conclusion is that I must be driving it harder since I want worse fuel economy - strangely not so.

BTW We logged the km, L price and other information for some 60,000km.

Is there anybody who has actualy tried the systems with an opinion. Good or bad as long as it is experience since I think that is what SKELZ is interested in hearing.

i wouldnt imagine there will be anyone! this is toymods not snake oil sales!
the reason you wont find anyone with racing, performance, engine building etc etc experiance talking about them is because they dont work! simple
if you want to believe they work its fine but id prefur that young blokes that are learning about cars and engines not have people saying fuel saving CON's work. becuase your only helping to sell snake oil to young people.
im trying my hardest to be diplomatic! but mate you can not tell crap from just driving around without datalogging everything, test each batch of fuel you use and measuring it with a the the MIL. then drive the same conditions{temps, flat or level, cornering etc}.
SKELZ you can get one if you like but you are wasting you money, i say this after having spent 10 years running national race car teams, from building some of the fastest and most powerful race and street cars in australia. talking with the cream of the engineers, engine builders.designers ect every day and selling them race parts and making them race parts.
i only say this so young blokes dont waste there money on crap! putting tape over all the joins on your car will save you ten times as much fuel as any of the CONS.

p.s neg rep, i think its the first one ive given.

What would be nice i must say is the same sort of device as people with leaded cars use to automagically add the valve seat protection stuff in with the fuel.
Only this time for octane. Because, as much as i like carrying 10 bottles of octane booster around for those times when 98RON isnt available, it really smells if one of them leaks.

Now why cant people actually invent something useful like that.

Takai, my dad has a setup which does exactly that (with Valve Lube). He converted his VR Commodore ute to LPG, and has the setup there so it doesn't dry out the valves. It works via vacuum or something. He told me about it a few years ago, but could find out if you need more info.

Yeah, i know how the valve lube system works, my housemate has it on his car after the LPG/Unleaded conversion. However, i want one which works the same but for octane booster.
