140 will make a diff a bit quieter, and potentially use more fuel (I don't know if this is enough to be relevant though) I don't know if it would affect the LSD performance..I'm using a 90w LSD oil with my torsen, seem OK...

i'll keep it simple,
any difference using 140w lsd oil vs 90w eg LSX 90?
i know they don't 'need' an LSD additive, but will it hurt it? and will the thicker oil make any difference to the way it behaves?

With some of the higher grade stuff I use they recommend an additive to induce slip.. Sort of like a fine tuning aspect.
I would say If its not a race car and you just want a tight LSD (especially if this is just an old used item) you will be safe to give the 140 a try.
