Default FGK Headers for 20V. Modifing Flange for 16V Head

Bought a set of 20V FGK Headers a while ago intending to fit them to Bigport 16V. I know a few people have modified them to fit but after trial fitting them yesterday I'm not prepared to ghetto cut the flange to fit - it would just look too crappy.

Can anyone suggest the cost of either modifing the flange ends or where I can source a Universal 16V/20V flange & the likely cost of cutting off factory flange & welding new one on?

I'm going to start checking eBay for a set of 2nd hand FGK headers for a 16V; in the meantime can I get away with bolting to three centre holes only if I overtorque them slightly & use Manifold sealant ?

I am going to be doing the same with a set of HKS 4-1 racing headers. I'm taking them to Extreme Custom Engineering here in Brisbane to get the outer tabs cut off and rewelded in the right location (using a 16v gasket as a template).
All up, it'll cost me about $150 or so, then they'll be ceramic coated to hide any machining marks etc. (and provide the benefits of ceramic coating of course).

The trouble with rewelding the entire flange is trying to get it all lined up (I was planning on getting a flange CNC'd to match the stock HKS design but for the 16V engine). The HKS headers are pretty tight as they go under the engine as it's got four pipes instead of one, and without building a jig, it would be nearly impossible to line up correctly, and a decent jig means $$$$, especially when it will get used only once.....

No welding required for this mod! Just use a 16V gasket and redrill the flange. Re drilling 16V to suit 20V requires welding on tabs. Going the other way - 20V to fit 16V you just need to notch the holes. Have a bit of a hunt and you'll seen the 20V/16V combo turbo manifolds with notched holes.

I agree with the above, I like to clamp the spare flange of the other head on and drill the outer holes, just two extra holes are needed and it will bolt on.

extractors in this for sale thread appear to have holes for both 20V and 16...

that are indeed dual fitment, I have long wondered why any extractor builder would not make them compatiable for both when all it takes is one long hole and a second sepearate one? Two holes and they have increased their product coverage.

Yeah there's some nice pipes on yahoo auctions Japan that bolt up to both 20V and 16V, I nearly bought a set in my 4AGE days, but when you include shipping it runs away with the money very fast.
