I'm in as well, entry in last night. Then went looking for my CAMS licence. Not in helmet bag. FAAARRRKKKK! Look in all likely spots. Nup. Check the RX7 again and look more carefully under passenger seat. Ahh. There it is...

Absolutely no idea what tyres I'm going to run - 07 dated with lots of tread or later with minimal... May just load up the back and try 'em all. Gotta do something to make sure I don't get handed my arse on a platter...

Kumhos were crap, dunlops I borrowed off Toddski felt great but still couldnt get a good time. I'm 99% sure one of my rear trailing arms is flopping back and forth.

Awesome times guys, you two are ripping it up out there.

What's with the tough conditions call Tyrie? I was thinking to myself today "Damn! Another nice day where I couldn't make it out to the hillclimb". Cold track didn't warm up??

The RSR's are good out there I found as they don't need much heat to work ok. Old mate in the Clio did a 47 on RSR's out there last year which made me realise they do hook up alright.

I'll hopefully be out there in August, fingers crossed.

Was cold in the morning then warmed up to be pretty nice around lunch then got cold again in the afternoon, I couldnt come to grips with it! Joe obviously could though!
I think that clio was entered today (one was) but it didnt show up, pity because I went to sydney yesterday to test drive a clio with the aim of replacing the datsun with one

Big congrats to Joe on his new PB of 49.33 and first in class - a well earned win. I got my arse handed to me on a platter...

Best for me was 49.85 with a split of 13.2x - my pb is 49.75 with a split of 12.4x. So if I can work out how to get back to splits like that with this gearbox I might be able to keep Joe honest again. But it was a great days racing. Despite the initial cold the track warmed up nicely - unfortunately the tyres not so much. Very tempted to try some 595 RSRs as the RX7 needs some road/wet tyres.

Shane, be great to see you out there in August - the more in our class the better. Pretty sure my car will have a second driver for that event too.

As said, it was a cold day, track temps were cold and tyres needed warming I was really happy with the RSR's. Had very predictable grip all day, doing 5 of my runs in the 49's..... Really consistant performance from the tyres.... It really makes me wonder what is possible..... The thought Soft Dunlop Direzza's, warm track, good launch etc makes me excited....

Shane, It would be great to have you back out at the Illclimb, how come your not out there anymore?

I cant wait now to the next event, looking to push the car alot further. The couple months will give me time to make some improvments to the AE86....

Hey Jo. I haven't driven my corolla since November last year, the plan was to have it off the road for a few weeks to do some work.......only just getting close to finishing it off now. Never meant to miss so many hill climbs and trackdays but that's the way it worked out unfortunately.

So damn keen for the next one, it's a 2 lap event too!
