Good Morning,
I have a 1GGTE we went to tune on wednesday with the following specs:
Microtech LT16, X6 Ignitor, Bosch Individual Coil Packs, 440cc 7mgte Injectors, HKS Cast Single Turbo Manifold, Garrett GT3076, Turbosmart 40mm Comp Gate, AU Falcon 65mm TB and Intake Manifold Hand Ported to Suit & TVIS Delete.
Anyways we ran up on the dyno at 7 psi which was fine.
We went to 10psi and between 5000 to rev limit it starts misfiring on one or two cylinders which is very audible through the exhaust and also the dyno operator could hear through the knock sensor muffs,
After trying a new set of iridiums gapped to .7 and new leads we ran up again and same issue.
He showed me on the laptop where the revs would climb say 5300 then intermitantly change say 5300, 5170, 5430 etc for a split second when missfiring.
Now i am going through the process of trying to workout the issue and would like to gather your thoughts or if anyone has had the same issue.
It's not a fuel issue as have already checked this.
My dyno operator seems to think it is ignition related and recommend i mark the balancer for cylinders 3 & 5 to determine if is firing correct.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Dane
are you using the factory dizzi as a CAS or something else for crank signal and a home signal? He showed me on the laptop where the revs would climb say 5300 then intermitantly change say 5300, 5170, 5430 etc for a split second when missfiring.
The rpm jumping around could be interference to CAS signal? Or the sensor starting to fail? or the ECU not coping with the Denso CAS output? or the tooth gap in the sensor too large/small?
Is the ECU showing any resets? and are the coils well mounted and the ignitor has a good earth?
