Factory AE71 auto boxes won't take that for long, though they're $50 a hit, so ... The only place I know for custom bellhousings is Extreme Custom Engineering at Archerfield QLD. Around the $1000 mark to mate any box to any motor.

Up to you to pick a box with the right aftermarket support for your needs. Then get a custom bellhousing made.

i didnt think that there would be a box that would bolt straight up that would handle it. i have a spare transbraked glide out of my torana but with no torque i really think i'd need 3 gears

A 4A with a powerglide?? Haha, talk about overkill!!

A correctly setup A340 should be up to the task, especially without massive twisting force and also keeps everything 'in the family', as such. Cheap and reasonably available....

Jatco probably the go for a more serious setup, something like the 6Boost Corolla wagon has....

What are the C4 boxes like for mating to a Toyota? Lots of aftermarket support for them.

If you want something more overkill, you could source a Ford FMX box....

i have an ae71 box here, that I have had in pieces, and I am sure that when I was going to use it, I was going to fit trimatic "upgrade" bits to it and it was going to work - from memory.... it all started when a mate told me about them, I didnt believe trimatic parts would fit, so I got an auto box and pulled it apart, and to my amazement, it was going to work with minimal modifications.

I mean, I would of had to manualize the valve body myself, but as far as bands, etc go, the trimatic stuff was going to work............... atleast i think it was trimatic gear.

**runs off to look at box and find rocket catalog**
