So i pulled the rear suspension, brakes and hubs out tonight. It's positive though - well hopefully; potentially rebuilt hubs tomorrow with new bearings, and the shock that looked like it had pushed through the strut top has actually just been built differently to the other one by some fuckwit in a suspension shop. Spacer above on one, below on the other...

Upside is i dummy fitted the aftermarket JIC alloy plates with spherical mounts that match my adjustable fronts - turns out they fit after all! Same suspension shop mounted them on the struts for me (for nothing at least) and somehow made them not fit my car, so i assumed they were for a Levin coupe or different chassis and had put them back on the shelf.

So with a bit of luck i'll have re-assembled matching struts with the good tops on them tomorrow too! Now the only other huge noise will be my 50c right rear tyre. Nothing like a last minute flurry of activity but you have to love trackdays; without them i swear i would never get anything done on the car.

Nope, i keep adding things to the mental list on what needs doing to put it in, and no approval for annual leave to get it done.

So you gonna be pissed if you're slower than a Caldina then

    And agreed re the ISF.

What hub issue did you have, Roundy?

Not this time for the IS-F, maybe next. 2 trackdays didnt do good things for the Audi, not in a hurry to repeat the mistakes of the past. I'm sure that I will though, I'm essentially a slow learner

I can see the issue....i reckon if it were mine there would a single day just to give an idea of what it could do and have a play on the limit in safer surroundings, but no plans for regular thrashing. Despite the marketing claims, they are no Porsche when it comes to durability under track conditions i don't think?

My first day on the track so safe to say he'll probably be quicker. Will be interesting to compare to the GT4s though.

What issues did the track days cause in the Audi? iirc it performed very well while it was actually at the track

What excuse I have basically insulted myself and said my driving is crap. The car should smoke the GT4s in a capable driver's hands. It has more power, better suspension, better brakes & decent tyres.
