Does anyone know anything about the grass events at the greyhound club? How often are they? what are the requirements? Who runs them? what do they cost? how do you enter? Do they allow rally tyres? etc etc
cheers

OK from some deeper research
Light car club of canberra, around $50, rally tyres allowed, pretty smooth track (better than the ruts at cottage 5), next one on 2nd July (have been 2 so far this year). I was supposed to be entering a sprints day at winton on the 3rd but khanacross sounds easier, cheaper and fun![]()

Hmmm they keep them quiet then? Lots of fun for sure...also lots of washing and vacuuming afterwards. Dirt khana and khanacross was all we had locally in the old days![]()

ATTACH]13027Picture 065.jpg13026I run these as often as I can ( hard to find out there on some times ) If you treat them too seriously then you could get frustrated as timing and vigerlance as to right and wrong direction is a bit hit and miss . But in their defence some cars create so much dust that you got no hope of being sure .
I have run two different AE82 SINGLE CAM Corollas. Last one I payed $50 for it . Put a fire extinguisher in , blue triangle to denote battery position , grabed my helmet and off I went , had a ball , won a torch . Went home dirty , tired and bloody happy.
I beleive the next one is in July ???????. I hope to run a ex drift pig AE86 Sprinter I bought recently , complete rust bucket , 4ac engine, stuffed suspension , no brakes ( better fix that ) Looked under the car to find that the RHS caliper is missing ( that will do it ). Anyhow if I get a chance I'll get it read , if not It will be the $50 AE82 . Can highly recomend these event if you just want to go fully sick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn this sounds like a ball of fun.
Might have to start hunting round for a car for this sort of work.
Cheers

Canberra Celica GroupBottom line: Life's too short, drive something you love.
DO you have to be a member of the club and does the car have to be registered? I've got an AE82 at the farm that's perfect for this. Have been using it to practice J turns and assorted other maneuvers and it's an easier and more fun way of keeping the grass down than hooking up the slasher to the old tractor.
No car does not need to be regoed . They do a saftey check , brakes , steering etc etc . You need a cams basic licence and need to be a member of a cams car club . Both can be bought on the day at the event . You will need a Helmet , a blue triangle that points to where your battery is mounted and off you go .
There's a thread for the upcoming event on bmsc now

Awesome event, I will definitely be doing more of them! Top 4 places went to a khana prepped 20v AE82 and the Bates' altezza on rally tyres. I think I came 5th in the micra![]()
