Ok so not too long ago we installed a Greddy speed cut defender into the wifes car... and went to tune it... seemed to all work out ok... but the slip control off light kept flashing...
then soon after it lost all gears...
pulled the pan off and cleaned the filter then reassembled and it worked again...
then suffered the same fate of no gears...
being that the car has been pushing just over 400rwhp for the last 4 years on a stock A340 we decided the box finally died and swapped in a 2nd box...
now we are getting a similar problem however 1 minute the slip control off light will be flashing and you will lose gears... next time you start it it will remain off and drive normally...
is there some trick or something missed when the greddy speed cut defender was installed? anyone got an official wiring diagram for it for a jza80 (jap spec)?
next thing on the list will be to remove SCD and see if problem subsides... however we still wish to remove speed cut as the car is touching on it at the end of the 1/4 and with a planned gearbox upgrade in the next couple of months (mv stage 2 box) Its going to be hitting it much earlier...
Cheers guys
Scott

yeah wilbo thats the one ive seen/used in conjunction with the japanese manual to get the speed sensor signal 12v and ground
this was actually passed onto the mechanic to install though with those diagrams so i am also assuming he has done it correctly without actually having the time or a chance to check it yet
hmmm so after speaking with my mechanic and getting him to look over the wiring diagram and compare to another ecu pinout it he said it appears that the greddy speed cut defender book has the ecu pinout as if you were looking at the plug itself not as if you were looking at the back of the ecu as all other wiring diagrams suggest...
so this will of been wired up back to front...
will hopefully get it sorted over the weekend and report back with the outcomes...
