MINES ECU PROBLEM A VERY WIERD ONE

    Hello guys

I had an issue where my stock ecu always dropped its rpm (still does) so I purchased a 2nd hand MINES ecu plugged this in
at the time I had blocked off the iscv and had the idle set via throttle body. so far mines ecu was ok....that night I wanted to go
for a spin at this stage I had gotten hold of an ISCV so I put that in and reset the idle at the throttle body went to start the
car and idle started looping up and down between 1500 and 2300rpm i blocked off the idle valve and cranked the idle up(thinking it was another dud iscv) and it seemed to idle ok went to drive it and it felt like I was hitting a rev limter backfiring by this stage I had made it to the car wash so I swapped in my stock
ecu and and reset iDle and car drove and ran fine ever since.

I have taken apart the mines ecu check the circuit boards no sign of leaking caps id looks brand new no burnt boards or anything question is
would replacing the caps fix this issue ? $$$$$ it and Id like to get it working rather then money down the drain.

is the MINEs ECU designed for different size injectors?
some are "custom made" to suit the particular mods of the original ECU owner.

Correct the ecu could be set for a specific modified motor rather than an enhanced stocker.

Something certainly does sound a miss but you should be able to test some form of resistance to proove dud caps shouldnt you?

ok replaced all caps 100uf was stuffed fixed the break down in ignition idle is still fucked revs up and down up and down. blocked off idle and set it via screw it runs lean as it hesitates betweem 2000rpm and 3000rpm gonna give up and bin it unless there is some other component to do with idle that is stuffed

check the air fuel ratios.... maybe the ECU is designed for injectors twice the size.... or fuel that is 100 octane..
or is designed for higher fuel pressure...

but you won7t know until yu know if it is running rich or lean...

as a start, put a multimeter on your O2 sensor, and see what the reading is, and if it changes...

    gee whiz.....

the ECU may not be "tuned" to your setup. it may be tuned to differetn sized injectors.
no the O2 sensor is not used at idle, but during cruise, you should see if the ECU is correcting to stoich or not, and under load, it should go rich. if it goe slean under load, then itS' tuned for bigger injectors, if it is just rich all the time, then it is probably just tuned rich on stock injectors.

but by all means, just chuck it in the bin without thinking
