From what I have been told you send in a factory 1jz-gte ECU, and it gets modified with a custom tune to suit the mods you have, 10 different tunes or so to suit things like exhaust, intercooler etc, I think I remember being told by a person who could read it that the speed and boost limit might be removed too

Has anybody tried these out, good alternative to the mines ECU.

my opinion is it depends how far you plan on taking the car...

if you are only ever going to stick with small simple mods then yeah could be a good thing but otherwise just wait and get a full standalone ecu...

most people i know who have mines ecus still require an safc to get afrs right anyways...

so by the time you add the costs up of both you are getting half way to a standalone...

    thats my thoughts anyways

They're basically asking 28,000 yen for removing the speed and boost cuts?

1jz-gte is map sensored and has the AIT sensor in the plenum? in which case, the ECU would already be dealing with changes to the induction system like a larger FMIC. There are cheaper mods out there for getting around speed and boost limits.

    in theory they are cool,

cheap mod, looks standard, adds power, also in theory shouldnt need dyno tuning, but in practicality,
they would probably have trouble with our crappy fuel, the exact mods of the car, most probably need dyno tuning.

Not so much for removing speed+boost limits, but changing how the car drives, have heard great things from people who've installed Mines ECU's in how the car drives/responds just they are too hard to find these days. With Standalone there is wiring or plug in harness costs, paying for the dyno time etc too ontop of the cost.

Was just wanting to know if anybody had tried them out before and had any feedback
