are federal RS-R any good in the wet?

My choices for the weekend are:
    Federal RS-R
    Dunlop 03G - Mediums
    bridgestone Adrenaline Re-001's (streets?

What are the first 2 like in the wet?

Are we talking about the hillclimb or Wakefield ?
    Federal RS-R
    Dunlop 03G - Mediums
    bridgestone Re-001's (streets?)
All these would be ok for Wakefield wet or dry , but I am not sure how they would be at the climb , when cold and wet?
My personal experience is only with the federals and they where great at Wakefield in the wet & dry after a lap and a half to warm up . They where a bit tail happy at the hillclimb ( not up to temp!!!! ), but they where predictable .
Also you must remember my AE86 has 100 rwkw to your 160+ in will make a big difference to how quick they come up to temp ?

I am using the Federals for Wakefield,
but I was asking you in regard to the hillclimb, as I know Wakefield is a completly differant kettle of fish..........

In that case so long as the dunlops have enough tread to squeeze out the water if wet , then I would use them . If it is real wet, then the tyre with the best tread is the go ! That has been my experience with my AE86 . But car weight , power and set up can make a fool of anything I have just said . I think the best advise I could give is if you have options bring them and then suck and see.

I'd be using the dunlops over the federals at wakefield, should be at least a second or 2 quicker, and being a supersprint you wont overheat them.
RS-R I would say will be better in standing water at the hillclimb, they appear to have a good tread pattern for dispersing water.

Rain this Sunday? laaame guess I'll be doing 65s all day in the micra lol

Iam keeping the dunlops away from wakefiled, so they will last for the Illclimbs.

fair enough, maybe consider using them for one session (3 laps) at wakefield when you feel you are going fastest, since you only need one fast lap to do well in a supersprint. I doubt you would have meaningful wear from one session...
I still intend to come up for a look on saturday, hoping it doesn't rain!

Hey Jojo, Ive had both re001 and federal 595 (not rsr) on my car.

re001 harder to get up to temp, good corner grip
595 good water dispersion, more squirmy, but also better braking (re001's lock up easy in comparison)

Obviously your experience may be different tho, different setup etc

AHH !!!! COMPETION ---- You should not have much trouble with "BOB " HE'S OLD , FAT AND KEEPS GOING OFF THE TRACK !!!!!!! On the subject of going off the track , went to SYD today ' parts pick up run ', on the way back dropped in at Wakefield and was watching a guy in a immaculate TA22 Celica with a rotary in it . Lots of get up and go , but std single spinner drum rear was it's big down fall and after a few "MOMENTS " HE EVENTUALLY WENT OF AT THE END OF THE MAIN STRAIGHT AND BURIED IT IN THE SAND TRAP. But he looked to be having a lot of fun . When a get a chance I might post a photo or two.
