Wakefield Park Track Day - Friday May 20th!!

Well i'm glad a lot of you know the drill/post by now becuase my slack arse isn't giving you much notice! Cost is now unfortunately $195 per car due to WP finally slugging us the cost increase we've dodged until now, but nothing else has changed, it's still awesome value for the amount of track time you get.

We run a limited number of cars so you pay per car and can cycle as many drivers through one car as you like, it's open track all day with 12 on circuit and a one in one out basis. I currently have at least 15 spots reserved for Toymodders, and can usually grab a couple more if we fill these up quick enough.

All the usual info, thursday and friday nights at the Pelican station next to the track, bring CAMS or valid driver's licence, helmet, neck/wrist/ankle length clothing, sleeping bag, pillow and beverages if staying (accom is about $30/night depending on numbers).

No official timing means cheaper insurance (and therefore track time) and passengers are allowed for 'driver training purposes', but feel free to organise your own. It does appear that we're having to find some middle ground with them on the driver training bit so not everyone can be an instructor; we are able to get some of us signed on under CAMS licences or similar so there's still plenty of opportunity for learning and improving, and the odd laugh with a mate.

Having trouble finding 16" rims to fit the back of the Excel. 7" wide with the standard 40mm offset will rub on the strut and only just fit in the guard.
How hard is it to find 15" or 14" track tyres?

Any idea what the go is with tyres that protrude past the guards (I think that bitsa Pugeot does)?
I can't get tyres under the back that either won't rub on the spring, or protrude.

what do you mean by what the go is? street legal = no. wakefield park = meh. my front tyres are well outside the guards and theyve never had an issue with it.

as for 15" tyres; semislicks and race slicks are both quite easy to source if you look around.

Greg: You'll definately be able to get her laps with an instructor either driving or in her passenger seat, it just probably won't be you.
