If you use the stock 20v flywheel size, order a kit to suit a 7afe
Hi, I'm planning to buy a new ACT clutch kit for my 4AGE 20v engine that I'm just about to finish building and planning to pull about 250 HP with it in my AE86. I still have the T50 gearbox. So I'm a little confused now since I don't now if I should go and buy a new clutch kit that probably won't fit if I change my gearbox or if should just go ahead and buy it and see what happens.
Reading from other threads one thing is for sure, I could maybe use the W series transmissions for more HP but that would maybe take a lot of time finding one and a little expensive. Also I don't have any experience doing this conversion, probably I will also need to modify the bell-housing and the drive shaft.
Any of you have any options?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jairo

What have you done to your engine for 250hp? I can only assume it is turbo, that you have spent US$100,000 on it, or that 250hp is not correct.
Regardless, a T50 gearbox will be ok with 250hp... depending on how you drive the car & what you use it for. If you drive it hard, the box will not last at all and you are better off going straight to a W5x. It may "seem" expensive but you will get some money for selling the T50 and you will not have to buy an extra clutch setup.

No.
And btw do you know where I can find a guide for the W series gearbox conversion.
No but it's quite straightforward.. get a W5x gearbox and purchase either a 4A->W5x bellhousing, or an adapter plate to go between your existing 4A bellhousing (the one on your T50) and the W5x box. The rest of the parts are mostly standard Toyota stuff.
