Default Fuel pump comparisons and mild 4AGZE's

I've just pulled the fuel pump assembly from my GTZ to put into my other Levin shell and I thought I might look at upgrading the fuel pump while I was at it.

The engine is only going to be pretty mild, with the following mods:

    Ported smallport head
    264-ish HKS cams
    N/A smallport intake manifold
HKS 4-1 headers, 2.5" mandrel exhaust
    Eaton M62 blower
    55mm 3SGTE throttle body
    W2A intercooler
    Apex'i pod filter
    H-beam rods
    crank scraper/windage tray
    Ceramic coated where applicable.
    Adaptronic/Haltech/etc.

    etc, etc.

So, what sort of fuel pump should I be looking at? Would a turbo Supra item do the job? Stay with stock? Or what else should I look at? Bosch, Walbro, etc. what are the pros and cons of the various brands and types?
I need it reliable and relatively quiet. I would rather pay a bit more to satisfy these requirements than save a few $$ and have to turn my stereo up.

A few years back I was working with a company that sold Walbro pumps. After speaking with a few of the Walbro engineers, it was recommended to me that "over pumping" (using a pump excessively too large) was not a good idea, for a few reasons. The 2 main reasons were 1) fuel heating - caused by forcing the fuel to circulate more than it needed too, and 2) potential idle, and off idle rich conditions because the FPR could not sufficently pass the volume.

When I built this http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...=1#post1090620 I used an Integra fuel pump because it upped the volume some(80 lph to 115 lph) while performing @ the same pressure.

The new Walbro pumps are very quiet.
Installed one in mine and its nearly as quiet as standard.
There is a faint whine when the ignition is on however.

Yea, I want to avoid too big a pump, no point putting a stonking big pump on an engine that can't drink it all. I just want to make sure it's not too small.

What's the flow rate on an AE101 GTZ 4AGZE pump?

A faint whine is fine, as long as it doesn't sound like I've got 50 electric shavers on the back seat.

easy enough to calculate... how many injectors? What volume are the injectors? add 20% for maintaining pressure, and for wear and tear

*IF* you plan on over pressuring the injectors for fuel coverage during boost, calculate the injectors you plan on, while running the extra pressure

I have sold alot of Bosch 040 pumps for various applications. They seem to be a common upgrade for a relitively cheap price $200-$250

The car has stock MAP 4AGZE injectors, so 365cc/min (Just cleaned). I plan on running around 14-15PSI or so, and do have a Sard adjustable FPR, but would like to keep it near stock pressure if possible (or whatever works out best).

I'll check out the Bosch 040 pumps, see what they're like (on paper at least at this stage).

Ok, I'm going to dig this up for a semi related question.
I now have a 20v engine that is mostly stock except for ceramic coating, balancing, trumpets an exhaust etc.

I have a choice between a couple of spare 4AGE 20v fuel pumps and an AE101 4AGZE fuel pump.

I'm wondering if anyone knows the flow rates for these things? Would it be worth sticking the 4AGZE fuel pump in, just because I have it sitting here?

I know on an AW11 the stock 4AGE pump is the same for the 4AGZE

According to the Toyota parts catalogue, the GT-Apex AE101 Levin and GTZ AE101 Levin have different part numbers.
I'm not sure what the actual differences are, and assumed it was flow rates?

I would stick in whatever happens to be newest?
Pretty much any 4AGE fuel pump will supply enough juice (and some) for a 20v, cant comment on the later AE101 engines but people have stuffed them into MR2's and used the 4AGE pump without issue so fuck knows.

There would be stuff all difference in flow rates.... Both aren't huge flowing pumps, and neither does either engine need much fuel flow.
    ...... butt scratcher?!
