I'll be there in the datsun finally, providing it survives a drift day and supersprints/wakefield hillclimb this weekend lol Will see how close I can get to a 50

Wakefield hillclimb you say Tyrie? How regularly have they been running those again? I haven't raced that track since 1990 something... how do you enter?

Wakefield hillclimb is being run as part of the datsun nationals this weekend. They are running full track supersprint, short track sprints an hillclimb. I dont think I've seen it used outside of datnats...

Sounds like the Dat guys know how to run an event! Would be awesome to do all of those together in one weekend. Did you attend?

Yep I was there, the hillclimb came as quite a shock, only got 2 runs at it and didnt come close to figuring it out! Its just sooo tight! First attempt was all 2nd gear and it just understeered and woldnt make boost. Came off the track and lost a lot of time. 2nd attempt I tried entering the top section off the main track sideways in 2nd to maintain speed and revs, but overcooked it and still ended up off boost and going slow, smashed it back to 1st for each corner after that and came away with 12th outright.

Short track was a lot of fun but I couldnt identify a braking point on the straight and came in too fast a couple of times which ended up with me on the grass where the 1st turn comes back on itself. Ended up 8th outright and 2nd fastest 1600.

Full circuit was awesome but I only did a 1:13.0 in the first session despite it feeling fast. Concluded that I was just being a bitch and should be more committed. 2nd session the misfires started under load out of corners but managed a 1:10.7 which had me in 3rd outright behind a IPRA sr20ve 1200 and a 180sx. 3rd session the misfire worsened so I just putted around, did a 1:23 and a s15 race car and a 240z race car overtook me in the standings, ended up 5th outright and fastest 1600. Overall, great event!

I have replaced a burnt/split intercooler hose that I am hoping was the source of my misfire, and should be set for this weekends hillclimb

I should be in for the hillclimb, have registered, just need to get back from the coast on Saturday at some point.

Haven't had any time to sort out tyres so will be running the last set which are a little worn - and I still haven't put in much seat time to come to terms with the new very tall first gear.

But - WGAF - time to cane it and have some fun.
