Default Steering rack into TE72 question

Hi all just trying to help a mate who wants to put a steering rack into his te72, ive been told ke70 cross member and steering column and ta22 mounts.

If anyone has done this could you please confirm the parts used and most of all did you have to cut the firewall in any way to clear the column etc??

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

    Hi.

An acquaintance of mine did this. I believe it was a AE71 crossmember (It had an A motor transplanted in) with KE70 column, although AE71 will also work fine. The tricky bit was the intermediate shaft from column to steering rack. I can't remember exactly what he used. Try a KE70 / AE71 jobbie and see if it fits, perhaps have it modified to suit.

Same chassis after all. For the most part all the factory mountings lined up IIRC.
