Default 1jz issues, faulty map? check eng light not dispaying a code?

Driving along in my jzx81 last night, running sweet, boosting great etc etc took off from a set of lights, gave it a bit of stick in 2nd gear then all of a sudden lost power and she started misfiring. Engine didnt stall, further driving determined that it will not boost and only misfires like crazy and also isnt happy if you try let it idle. Check engine light came on straight away and has stayed on ever since.
It feels like the map sensor died, as she seems to run ok when your at 0vac 0 pressure situations. As if the map sensor is reading nil and nil, any boost and she coughs and farts and trying to idle she seems a lil smokey and misses.
I tried the dignostic check engine light but it wont flash?? Why not?? why did it come on and continues to stay on if its not storing a code?
Could it be the map sensore but not storing a code? which i find very odd, or could it be a power to coil issue and not storing a code yet somehow giving the same symptoms as a faulty map sensor.
I tried a new map sensor and still the same.

    Now im a little puzzled.

Ive disconnected the battery and ecu, double checked check engine light wiring, even tried bypassing with a test light and still no flashy flashy, traced the te1 wire from ecu to diag port and thats fine.

    Any thoughts or suggestions??

    Cheers
    Matty

I had a jzx81 ecu do a similar thing recently. Would misfire when it hit boost. Over fueling at idle/misfiring. Turned out to be ecu caps.
