mate if i were you id go get some single hex sockets save yourself the grief of stripping sockets..
have you got a picture?..
Hey guys,
Im trying to remove 4 bolts to the power steering pump to remove it from my car, but EFF me it is super duper hard.
Ive put in as much force in to actually see my spanner bend in the strong axis
Im actually starting to round the nuts
Ive also tried to good ol "2 spanner" trick to get more torque
I havent tried a breaker bar, but for one of the bolt you cant even fit a ratchet in there, and the other 2 require an extension which just wouldnt make sense to use a breaker bar
Are they reverse thread or some shiz?
Seriously cannot even make either of these 4 bolts budge
I need to rebuild my PS cause I just bought a new alternator (PS pump killed me last alternator)
Heres the reference article im using:
http://planetsoarer.com/Power%20steering%20pump.htm
Any help would be awesome!
Thanks in advanced
PS. Working on my Soarer makes me love working on my rotary!

If you take a look at the article, scroll down to the second picture and read the wordings on the right of it, Im having issues with step 8
Ive taken the banjo bolt off
I can take some pictures, but the article describes it pretty well
Sorry, they are all "nuts" not bolts
Whats a 'single hex socket' ?

Yeah, they are hell tight.
I ended up drilling one out a few weeks back.
Have fun.

Got them!
I figured out what a "single hex" socket was.. works a treat
Especially with an ultra long breaker bar!
Also figured that the bolt I was talking about that you cant get to with a socket, was infact the wrong bolt and the correct one was further under the car

lol good for you mate.. youll find single hex sockets are the best sockets to use, impact sockets use single hex design cos its practically impossible to strip a bolt when using such a socket...
double hex (regular) sockets are inferior when it comes to applying torque
I really didnt think it would require THAT much force haha

Yeah, mine have always been a prick to remove.
2 of the bolts come off easy, but 1 is always a prick!
