yes, this is true - generally turbo cars are quieter than n/a cars for this reason. But once you hit full noise and that wastegate opens, generally turbo cars get pretty loud

I have only a resonator and a cannon on my 3" exhaust and it just scrapes in under the legal limit. as everyone has said, turbo cars are quieter and you may be able to get away with it (although an external gate and screamer will certainly be louder than my small internal gate)

beyond screamers being totally illegal of course

although some people with large turbos may say that by the time that screamer pipe comes into effect, they're breaking many laws anyway

screamer is still a screamer, plumbed back or not (take dongs car for example, muffler and resonator, plumbed screamer, still as loud as mine)

I was under the impression that a screamer was simply a wastegate venting to atmo?

I could be wrong but Ive heard screamer refered to as the ext wastegate venting pipe, regardless of whether it's plumbed or not. Either way, a glorious noise no doubt

    HI,

I have read some where that the muffler in the middle of the system muffles the high end of your reve range while the muffler at the end of the system works on the lower rev range for noise. Recently my rear muffler died and it was noisy from startup til about 5K where it started to quiten.

    Cheers,

    Ty

looks to be around 2 inches at the back, i'd be more worried about putting huge kinks in it

what car is that? front rack isn't too common.

and to clarify, the term "screamer" refers to a watsegate pipe that does not join up with the post-turbine pipe (dump pipe)

screamers can be used on turbos with internal wastegates

there are good reasons to run a screamer, but for goodness sake muffle it.

that exhaust is as close to car as possible - its no where near the lowest feature of the car.. as for tights bends there is none, all mandrel bends, scremer will not be plumbed in and its only getting 1 muffler.. oh the cars a mz20
