You'd be surprised mate! An open track is means carrying a bit more speed, make the car much more adjustable. Personally I'd prefer an open track for a lightly modified car (some decent pads wouldn't go astray though!), motorkhana is very demanding on suspension setup, most standard cars will just feel like understeery pigs (especially, but not limited to FWDs)

And yeah, the more the merrier!

alright.. it looks like we got some interest for both..

ill look into booking the track tomorrow and ask for deposits fairly quickly..

looks like we might limit it to 8 people.. so it would be $75 a piece... 1st come, 1st serve..

if there are still enough interested in the dual skidpan, ill book that as well..

problem is i cant get a confirmed booking until i put down a 50% deposit... so i would need to set a tentative date, get cash..then book.

in a lightly modified Supercharged aw11 (pulley/headers etc) we hit around 140-150 down the back straight on the RAC track. On the skidpan i'd expect 100-120 on the longest part. The track will definately work your brakes hard tho.

Stomps - what day are u going to book the track for?

when i arrange these events on my other usual forum we hire the track for half day (4hrs) and you get one skid pan with the hire of it free.. costs $600 and we usualy run 10members so $60 each nice even notes then . Ussually theres minimal wait time and most forget to use the skidpan as the track as wayyyy more fun (but we are FF cars not FR so skids arent that fun for us ahha) also as of late they dont allow drifting or skids on purpose always threaten to kick you off..

have fun with it guys but deff do the track its much more fun

If no skidz....anger. Midvale is also an option, lotsa skidz there!

Didn't realise you get skidpan as well as track, that's pretty awesome...hire one, get one free!

    This is midvale. http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...0th-April-2010

Mucho skids. (Within reason of course, if you start dragging dirt onto the track you will be told where to go!)

Previous times we have been to AHG they do say no burnouts, drifting etc. They seem pretty lax about it though, as long as your not out of control they dont mind some sideways ness). Way more lax at midvale though! And big bonus at midvale (or the track at AHG) you dont need a good memory hahah

In terms of strictness..we have never had a problem with AHG.. As long as you aren't a complete tool, you get away.with quite a bit..

Obviously stationary burnouts and big handbrake entries are a nono, but as long as they see car control they are cool about it..

Didnt book shit on friday, had too much to do at work..
