    yup, 15kohm between coil and MS tach input.
    that was with both locked and unlocked dizzy, with dizzy triggering the coil, and signal coming from coil.

    i would recommend getting or making an ignitor type thing, to run off the dizzy directly rather than from coil.. otherwise you have no timing control? or is this just to test?

    i don7t have my MS files on new pc after old one died.. will try to get em off tomorrow

    I just want to get it running with the least number of variables so that I dont confuse myself to much all at once.
    I've played with haltech and microtech before but these things are a little more complicated. I'll grab a resistor today and see if that sorts my issue

    Had a mate who is crazy tallented with auto electronics and all things squirty, and also happens to have a 7k efi supercharged 3k, go through all my settings and it seems that I had the fan control setup wrong, so ill try that out today and I have added and checked all my earths so hopefully all is well now and it runs today

    Old corollas, you got any pointers on getting it to idle properly, got it started but its a prick to start and doesn't really want to idle

    what cams you running?
    also what injectors? i'm running stock 7KE injectors and have 276/284, 11? 10.5mm? lift, it doesn7t idle so well
    and warmup is too rich
    ti needs extra air when cold also

    Cheers for the files oldcorollas, I've managed to get it to idle a bit better, seems that the internal igniter in my dizzy was dodgy, it would start and run but then just die as if you were turning off the key, so o locked up a points dizzy and dropped that in to check and its all good, so ill convert the electronic dizzy to external igniter using an bim024, cause I hate points. Just need to lean it out a bit at idle.

    so i have to do the head gasket on my 22re corona, and im thinking of doing having a go at a bit of head porting while im at it, it already has a aftermarket cam and extractors and 2.5 inch system. u guys reckon it would be worth the muck around to ditch the factory computer system and run a mega squirt? if so which one should i look at? or would i be able to get a good enough result out of the factory one just buy adjusting the air flow meter. i would like to think i can solder ok and have a fairly good knowledge of efi systems how they work ect

    any help/opinions would be great

    Hey guys not sure if anyone on here is into the EDIS scene but I figure I should ask anyway

    I've had my 2T-G running with megasquirt 2 v3.0 and a ford EDIS 4 setup running for awhile now,
    Has been running perfectly and powerfully for a couple of months but now without warning has no spark or RPM signal..

    Was parked up untouched and now I cannot get a signal out of it, has solid 12+ power and ground, and i've traced all of the wiring and all checks out.

    Any ideas? Was a junk yard setup before I brought it. Could be dead VR sensor? module? coilpacks?

    I'm using EDIS on 4A-GE. By not getting a signal out of it, i assume you're referring to the PIP signal from EDIS module to Megasquirt?
    Case 1: MS is not reading any RPM, even when you're just cranking, then it's missing the PIP signal.
    Case 2: MS is reading RPM when cranking but you're not getting spark, then it's most probably the coil pack.

    Case 1 is the only time i had this problem. It happened when i ruined the VR sensor from dodgy bracket and high RPM dyno run. The module itself should be bullet proof.
    Fun fact: finding an EDIS replacement VR sensor is difficult for me so i tried a bike flywheel pickup sensor (which is basically a VR sensor as well) and it works like a charm.

    What is it with people not really knowing anything about engine management universally shit talking MS?
    One bloke building a NA ITB 7MGE rubbished a MS3 saying he didn't want to cut corners and limit his engine and was going to buy something much more capable........

    .. and here i am thinking even MS3 is too much for my budget. I doubt the average gearhead would exhaust MS1 features before he needs to upgrade. Boost control, nitrous, fan control, programmable outputs, water injection, etc..

    I am very much leaning towards it being the VR aswell.
    I get no signal and therefore no spark, it's not sending to either the MS or the coilpacks.
    Time to source new.. Thanks mate

    and Dneg you are too true. The looks you get from people when you tell them you're a squirter. Weird.
